AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN!





It irritates me that the banner spills into the menu, and I'm sorry abut that. BUT IT'S SO EXCITING!

So yes, I am going to the Minneapolis Young Writer's Workshop again. It was fantastic the first time, and I'm excited to be back.

I really suggest that you attend this, even if you aren't in Minnesota. Get a plane ticket, fly over, write with friends. I met a few people from around the country who have traveled to attend and it's so worth it!

I am going to be selling my book there (signing them too, probably) on a tiny little side table (or something, we're still working on exactly how I'll sell them), and I am very excited about that.

The authors this year look SO fantastic! Sabaa Tahir (An Ember in the Ashes), Shannon Hale (Princess Academy, Austenland), Ally Condie (Matched Trilogy, Summerlost, Atlantia), Jonathan Friesen (Unfolding, Jerk, Both of Me), and Wayne Thomas Batson (The Door Within, Dream Treaders). And can I just say... Wayne Thomas Batson has the best name. It's the most perfect reference. Batson (Billy Batson, a.k.a. Shazam), Wayne (Bruce Wayne), and then Thomas but his name is actually so cool. I know he probably gets that a lot (or maybe he doesn't, I honestly have no dang idea), but it's so fantastic.

There's still more information, but this is really just a I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED rant post because WRITER'S WORKSHOP.

Super Secret-But-Not-Really-Cuz-I-Kinda-Already-Mentioned-It-Earlier Special Book Announcement!

Okay, so it wasn't released at 1. I'm just so excited I bumped up the time! I am so excited to announce this, because it's something that's taken up my life that past two or so years. Well, let me fix that wording. I've been working on this 8th rewrite of it for two years. I came up with the original idea back in 2011. I cranked this thing out when I had a dream that turned into my plot (with a few additions and changes, of course), and I instantly went through and kept editing it. Now, on the eleventh draft, I've finally decided that I am going to publish it. Self-publish, that is. *deep breath* *pterodactyl screech* YES FRIENDS, I AM SELF-PUBLISHING MY BOOK. I cannot tell you how excited I am. Now, I know I said I'm looking for an agent, but honestly, none of them wanted it. Tips for Underwriters

Do you suffer from finishing your book, but only having 160 pages? Do you feel like your book is not as in-depth as it could be? Introducing Editing! This amazing program that will consume your life can be very, very helpful--if you know how to use it properly. So, without further-ado, I give you: Now, I myself am an underwriter. I come up with the idea for my story, write it down in paragraph form, all of it being one big long run-on sentence, and then I write it. I don't plot it out, I don't try and figure out what chapter should have what in it. I just speed right on through, starting and ending chapters where I feel they should start and end. But that can pose questions: Is my book long enough? Do I need to add more in to fill out the story? Did I write it as best as it can be?
